Eliminating all carbs or all fats or severely limiting calories or all sugars from your diet is not optimal. At the same time, eating a lot of the same kinds of foods isn't ideal either. Don't fall for plans which tell you to eat all protein or massive amounts of one kind of food to lose weight. You should eat a balanced diet full of fruits and vegetables and lean proteins.

. Promises more than 2 pounds per week weight loss. Even though weight loss is the primary goal of dieting, losing weight too quickly isn't healthy and is likely to come back very easily and just as quickly! There are some interesting alternatives to dieting available today. Diet drinks packed full of vitamins can be a great way to eat healthy on the go. While they are not the ideal meal, they are certainly a better option than a burger from a drive-thru. Convenience sells.

There are even more unlikely products which promise to help you lose weight without traditional methods of dieting. Some include patches, gum, hypnosis, and even a staple in your ear! All of these methods are worth a try if you can commit to the ever important lifestyle change. Trying new things is a great way to keep yourself motivated when dieting as long as you stick to the basics and use common sense with these new "fun" weight loss aids.
